This MS-35 Alie (In homage to G1 Elita) is the D-grade figure brought by MechFansToys / MFT (Mechanic Studio) in its latest Mech Soul series. It is of high articulation and transforms into a red Cybertronian race car.

I love female Transformers but hate shell-former. After much hesitancy, I decided to buy one to see if it's any good and to change my mind about my disdain for shell-former. I had the choice between this and Newage's offering. In the end I chose Dr. Wu's Elita-1. While the Newage's is better in paint and quality, there were two reasons why I didn't choose it. The first reason is the price. When it was first sold, the price was less than $10 apart. Now the price is more than $15. Second, while Dr.Wu's made changes to both their bot and alt mode, Newage's only made changes to their robot mode. Anway, to the actual review. I have to say, in hand, she is very tiny. I don't know what the Newage's paint is like, but I love what Dr. Wu has done to this figure bc she looks phenomenal. The most important thing to me about these female Transformers is their head sculpt. Compare to the Newage's, this I feel does a better job and is more toon accurate. Transformation is easy, but not much fun as it's just her laying down and putting the car shell over. Joints are tight and there is no QC issues whatsoever. I'm happy that TFSafari included the giant sword. It looks really cool, though I don't remember her ever having one. My biggest worry about her is she might be top heavy, but to my surprise, she isn't at all. She is very easy to pose and have great articulation. Her alt mode looks great and very accurate to the cartoon, unlike the Newage's. Newage's mold looks very good an Arcee, but for Elita-1, it just a recoloring, when Elita's alt mode looks nothing like Arcee. My one complaint is that her backpack is a bit too big for my liking. I like what Newage has done with theirs to minimize the size. If you haven't noticed already, I absolutely adore this figure. I was wrong about shell-former and I'm glad I got this one. I think I will give other shell-formers a try and will be tracking down Newage's Arcee and Nightbird. As for this figure, it is a 4.5 out 5 stars for me. I can't recommend her enough. I would even go as far as to say she is better than Newage's Elita-1. She is that good.
